With the help of a few friends, 2-Handshoes is looking to revamp its Second Hand store in downtown Chicago and is hoping to sell it in the second half of 2018.
The store, which has been in business for more than 50 years, has been open since 2013 and has been featured on ABC News’ Nightline and in multiple documentaries.
“It’s just kind of a new look for us,” said 2- Handshoes owner John Gee, who said that the store was looking for a new tenant.
Gee said the store is looking for more space, more employees and more customers.
2-Hand is owned by two brothers and has two locations in Chicago, one in Wicker Park and the other in Midway City.
The store currently sells shoes, apparel, jewelry, accessories, food, clothing, home goods and more.
2-hand also has a retail store in Detroit, which is slated to open later this year.
2Hood is located at 2325 W. LaSalle St., in Wickersham Township, about a mile south of the former Sears store.
2Hand Shops is also located in Chicago’s North Shore neighborhood.
Gee plans to open the Second Hand brand in Chicago.
The brand has a presence in several cities, including Austin, Texas; Dallas, Texas and Seattle, Washington.
